Neither Windows’ uninstall utility nor manufacturers’ built-in uninstallers are willing or capable of removing all the files involved in the installation of certain software tools completely and for all. Total Uninstall will not only remove all traces of any app or program that you decide to remove, but will also revert any changes performed on your computer (Windows Registry included) during the installation process.

We usually rely on the programs’ own uninstallers to perform the task they were designed for, but they usually decide to leave some trace behind in case you decide to install it back again, or worse. Total Uninstall prefers to use its own methodology to make sure it’s done right. To do so, it performs its own analyses every time a new program is installed on your PC and saves all the relevant information required to revert all changes and remove all files and traces when you decide you don’t need it anymore. It will also analyze any program that was already there when you installed it, storing all that useful information for an eventual uninstall. Besides and unlike Windows uninstall utility, Total Uninstall can remove any Windows app that the SO installs on your computer without asking you first.

Apart from its efficient uninstall capabilities, Total Uninstall comes with other utilities that will make your PC maintenance tasks a bit easier. It can clean up all unnecessary files left behind by other programs, either as a consequence of a previous uninstall process or for any other reason. Also, it can help you remove unwanted auto-run programs to speed up the startup process. Finally, you can also use this tool to move all your programs to a new drive or computer, simply by backing them all in a single file and restoring it in the new disk. This may not work with certain programs though, such as the Microsoft Office suite of tools, which seems to be very picky when it comes to re-installs processes.

All in all, Total Uninstall is certainly a useful addition to your desktop. It shares some of its functionality with the already existing Windows uninstall tool, but it goes way beyond what your SO is willing to do for you when uninstalling unwanted apps and programs.
